SSC Photo and Signature Size: How to Resize for the Online Form

Many SSC applications get stuck at the upload step because the photo or signature is the wrong size. This guide shows the sizes commonly asked for and how to resize your files in under a minute, for free.

How to resize your SSC photo

1. Take a recent photo against a plain white or light background, facing the camera, with good daylight.
2. Open the Exam photo resizer and choose SSC → Photo in the preset list. The size and KB limits fill in automatically.
3. Select or drop your photo. On a phone you can tap the camera button to take one directly.
4. Tap Process images. The tool shows the final size in KB and a green tick when it fits the limit.
5. Tap Download and upload the file to the SSC portal.

How to resize your signature

1. Sign on plain white, unruled paper with a black or dark blue pen, in your normal running hand.
2. Take a sharp, well-lit photo of it. For a cleaner result, first run it through the Signature maker to remove shadows and the paper background.
3. In the Exam photo resizer, pick SSC → Signature, add the file and process it.

Tips so your upload is accepted

• Your face should fill most of the photo, with both ears visible and no cap or dark glasses.
• Avoid shadows on your face or on the background.
• Do not use a photo with a date or name printed on it unless the form asks for one. If it does, tick Add name and date in the resizer.
• Keep the original photo saved. If the portal rejects the file, you can resize it again with different settings.
